Backwards Skating Hockey Drill
This is a great drill to work on backwards skating mobility, edge control and quickness. Whether you are a defensemen or forward this drill will increase your skating ability and athleticism.
Keys to Focus On
- Keeping good posture- head up, good knee bend, great upper body posture, weight on balls of your feet
- Get your hips involved when leaning into the turns
- Grab the ice with your inside leg when crossing over between cones
- Pick up the pace as you become more comfortable
